Inquiry
The Work Programme, the Government’s welfare-to-work scheme which aims to support a wide range of long-term unemployed people into work, was launched in June 2011. The Committee published a report on the design and commissioning of the Work Programme in May 2011.
The current inquiry is following up some of the issues raised in the Committee’s 2011 report, with a particular focus on the Work Programme’s effectiveness in supporting jobseekers who are furthest from the labour market.
