Witnesses
At 2.40pm, Tuesday 4 June 2013, Grimond Room, Portcullis House
- Cressida Dick, Assistant Commissioner, Metropolitan Police
Committee Chairman Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:
"The vicious murder of Drummer Lee Rigby last week was a terrible reminder of the dangers of violent extremism which can come at any time, from outside our borders or even from within.
This session will be a vital opportunity to establish the facts in public with a briefing by the Metropolitan Police as to what happened on 22 May, the police investigation and their response.
We will be following this evidence with a major inquiry into international terrorism and crime which will end later this year."
