Defence Acquisition: summary of Government Response

The Defence Committee publishes the Government’s response to its Seventh Report of Session 2012-13, on Defence Acquisition.
The Committee notes that, although the Ministry of Defence does not accept all the Committee’s conclusions, the Department welcomes the Report and has addressed the questions raised in some detail. The Committee is nonetheless disappointed that the response was delayed beyond not only the normal timetable but the extension agreed with the Committee.
The Committee intends to return to the matters raised in the Report and response in due course, but is publishing the response without comment at this stage in order to encourage debate on the important issues raised.
The Report will be made available on the Committee’s website, www.parliament.uk/defcom, on Friday 10 May and copies may be purchased from The Houses of Parliament Shop (12 Bridge Street, Westminster, London, SW1A 2JX) on the day of release.
