Web forum invites input for accessibility inquiry

MPs on the Transport Committee have launched a web forum seeking input for its inquiry examining access to transport for people with disabilities.
The Transport Committee has launched a web forum to seek views on the accessibility of public transport.
This is part of the evidence gathering being undertaken for an inquiry into access to transport for people with disabilities. It is intended to provide another way of hearing the experiences and ideas of users, carers and providers of transport and will inform the committee members and support their questioning of the Minister, Norman Baker MP, when he appears to give oral evidence on 3 June.
Launching the forum Louise Ellman, Chair of the Committee, said: ‘We hope to engage directly with users of transport who have a disability, with their carers, and also with those who run the transport services that they use. On 3 June we shall be asking the Minister questions about the government’s record and on its future plans so we want to hear about people’s experiences and get their ideas on what can be done to improve the service they receive in future.’
