Lords debate report on migration

The House of Lords will debate the findings of a report on the EU's global approach to migration and mobility on Thursday 6 June. The report was published in December 2012 following a six-month long inquiry by the Lords EU Sub Committee.

The report called for a more coordinated and more flexible approach by the EU and its Members States to external migration policy to help Europe address its demographic challenges and deliver economic growth over the decades ahead.
The debate is scheduled to start at about 4.30pm and will be opened by Lord Hannay of Chiswick, Chairman of the committee.
Lord Judd (Labour), Lord Rosser (Labour), Earl of Sandwich (Crossbench), Lord Sharkey (Liberal Democrat) and Lord Teverson (Liberal Democrat) are also expected to take part in the debate.
Lord Taylor of Holbeach (Conservative) will respond on behalf of the Government.
