Support for housing costs inquiry - evidence session announced

The Work and Pensions Select Committee has today announced the second oral evidence session for its inquiry into support for housing costs in the reformed welfare system.
The witnesses will be housing associations and their representative organisations. The session will consider
- The impact of the Benefit Cap and the social sector size criteria on housing providers and their tenants, and how these vary by region
- The role of transitional arrangements in easing the impacts for tenants
- Housing provider concerns about the impact of Universal Credit and what more can be done to ensure providers and their tenants are prepared for its implementation
- The impact of housing benefit and other welfare reforms on the funding arrangements of housing providers
- How providers are supporting tenants to manage the reforms.
The Committee issued terms of reference for this inquiry on 23 July.
