Support for housing costs inquiry - evidence session announced

The witnesses will be housing associations and their representative organisations. The session will consider

• The impact of the Benefit Cap and the social sector size criteria on housing providers and their tenants, and how these vary by region
• The role of transitional arrangements in easing the impacts for tenants
• Housing provider concerns about the impact of Universal Credit and what more can be done to ensure providers and their tenants are prepared for its implementation
• The impact of housing benefit and other welfare reforms on the funding arrangements of housing providers
• How providers are supporting tenants to manage the reforms.

The Committee issued terms of reference for this inquiry on 23 July.
