Constitution Committee take evidence from former Ministers on coalition government inquiry

The House of Lords Constitution Committee will this week take evidence from former Ministers Paul Burstow MP, Cheryl Gillan MP and Tim Loughton MP as part of its inquiry into the constitutional implications of coalition government.
The three former Ministers served in the current coalition government before leaving office.

- Rt Hon. Cheryl Gillan MP, Secretary of State for Wales 2010–12
- Tim Loughton MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families, 2010–12
Session
The Committee will ask the witnesses about a range of issues, including how, in their experience, the UK's constitutional architecture is suited to coalition government; how bound they felt as Ministers by the coalition agreement when developing policy; how the relationships between secretaries of state and junior ministers from a different party developed; and what preparations the political parties should be making to prepare for the possibility of another coalition government after the 2015 general election.
The evidence session will start at 10.30am on Wednesday 6 November in Committee Room 1 of the House of Lords.
