Support for housing costs inquiry - evidence session announced

The Work and Pensions Select Committee has today announced the first oral evidence session for its inquiry into support for housing costs in the reformed welfare system.
The witnesses will be academics and experts in the areas of housing and welfare reform.
The session will consider the impact of welfare reforms on tenants, landlords and the private sector rental market and will explore innovative approaches to helping tenants and landlords to cope with the changes
The session will consider the sufficiency of transitional arrangements in helping tenants and landlords to adapt to the changes; the impact of specific housing benefit reforms, including the benefit cap and the social size criteria; and the impact to date on incentives to work.
The Committee issued terms of reference for this inquiry on 23 July.
