Evidence session for inquiry into Jobcentre Plus announced

The Work and Pensions Select Committee has today announced the fifth of six planned oral evidence sessions for its inquiry into the role of Jobcentre Plus (JCP) in the reformed welfare system.
The Committee will hear evidence from witnesses representing employers, recruiters and Monster Government Solutions (designers of the Universal Jobmatch vacancy system).
The session will consider: the effectiveness of JCP’s engagement with local and national employers and recruiters; the effectiveness of the Universal Jobmatch system and how it could be improved; ways in which JCP could achieve more sustainable job outcomes; possible approaches to “in-work conditionality” and the role of employers in encouraging career and pay progression; and ideas for future changes to the role of JCP.
The Committee issued terms of reference for this inquiry on 19 April.
