The Treasury Committee has today published a letter from the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England (Prudential Regulation), Andrew Bailey, regarding the Committee’s recent evidence session with Neville Richardson.

Commenting on the publication of the letter, the Chairman of the Treasury Committee, Andrew Tyrie MP, said:

“The Committee has received apparently conflicting evidence. We will be taking more, both in formal sessions and in writing, to get to the bottom of this.

“The quality of Britannia’s loan book is crucial to an understanding of The Co-op Bank’s capital position and the collapse of ‘Project Verde’."
