1.   Appointment of non-executive members of the NAO board

The Commission appointed Rob Sykes, Joanna Shaw and Ray Shostak as non-executive members of the NAO Board with effect from 1 January 2015 for initial terms ending on 31 December 2017.  The Commission agreed remuneration in-line with existing non-executive members of the NAO Board.

The Commission also agreed that, in future, it would like nominees to attend the Commission prior to their appointment being confirmed.

2.   Consideration of the National Audit Office’s Strategy for 201516 to 201718

Evidence was taken from Sir Amyas Morse KCB (Comptroller and Auditor General), Professor Sir Andrew Likierman (NAO Chairman) and Michael Whitehouse (NAO Chief Operating Officer).

The Commission approved the National Audit Office’s Strategy for 2015–16 to 2017–18.

3.   NAO Auditors

The Commission approved the appointment of Crowe Clark Whitehill as the NAO’s auditors for the financial years 2015/16 and 2016/17.

4.   VFM Report on NAO 2014: Transformation

The Commission took note of the report and agreed to lay the report before the House.
