Committee summons Tony Blair for questioning on OTR letters

The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee has today written to former Prime Minister Tony Blair summoning him to appear on 14 January 2015 to give evidence on the Committee’s inquiry into the administrative scheme for ‘On-the-Runs’. The full text of the letter is attached.

The Committee has also been trying for several months to take public evidence from current Cabinet Office (and former Northern Ireland Office) officials, Mark Sweeney and Simon Case. The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has continued to block their attendance, so the Committee also agreed to summon both of these officials on Wednesday 7 January.
