House of Commons Commission decisions – 15 December 2014

1.   Finance 2015/16 (Commission/MEC)

The Commission:

(a)     took noted of the proposed schedule of fees and charges for 2015/16, which is subject to further review in March;

(b)    agreed that the maximum grants to the Inter-Parliamentary Bodies, the History of Parliament Trust and the Association of Former Members should be up-rated by 1.5% for 2015/16 in line with the overall financial remit for the House of Commons;

(c)    endorsed the Medium-term Investment Plan;

(d)    endorsed the Medium-term Financial Plan;

(e)    agreed a resource element of £212.5 million and a capital element of £45.8 million for the Administration Estimate for 2014/15; and

(f)     agreed to reduce the Commission Reserve by a further £1.2 million.

The Committee agreed a resource element of £35.1 million and a capital element of £3.9 million for the Members Estimate for 2015/16.

2.  Finance2014/15 (Commission/MEC)

The Committee agreed a Supplementary Estimate to increase the resource element of the Members Estimate for 2014/15 by £1.0 million from £38.8 million to £39.8 million.

The next meeting of the Commission/MEC will take place on Monday 19 January at 5.00 pm in Speaker’s House.
