Following the announcement by the Speaker today that there will be an emergency debate in the House of Commons on Tuesday 2 December, on China’s ban on the Committee’s planned visit to Hong Kong, the Committee meeting scheduled for that afternoon at 2.30 pm has been cancelled.

The evidence session planned with Duncan Innes-Ker of the Economist Intelligence Unit, Dr Tim Pringle of SOAS and Jonathan Fenby, CBE, Managing Director of the China team at Trusted Sources and former editor of the South China Morning Post may be rescheduled.  An announcement will be made in due course.
