Finance Bill Committee to hear from tax experts

The House of Lords Committee on the 2014 Finance Bill will hold two evidence sessions on Monday 27 January with experts on tax issues and campaigners on corporation tax.

In both sessions the Committee will focus on the taxation of partnerships and whether it is appropriate that all partnerships, which can vary from small family businesses to large multinational companies, are treated similarly for purposes of taxation. Areas of questioning will also include the impact of the government’s 2010 reforms to tax policy making, and whether enough is done to monitor the impact of tax changes post implementation and how successful the government have been in reducing aggressive tax avoidance.
