MPs take evidence on major new labour agreements

The Scottish Affairs Committee takes evidence on the major new labour agreement for construction workers at the new nuclear power plant to be built at Hinckley in Somerset.

The project is expected to create 25,000 jobs, with around 5,600 construction workers on site at the peak of construction. The Common Framework Agreement confirms the pay and conditions of employment, as well as access to welfare facilities and training.
This session will explore the agreements made between the Unions and EDF Energy in negotiating conditions for potential contractors at Hinkley in Somerset – Hinkley Point C (HPC), as an example of good employment practice for major contractors in the private sector.
