New inquiry into delegated legislation

On Wednesday the Procedure Committee will open a new inquiry into delegated legislation. The evidence will be taken in public at approximately 3.20 pm on Wednesday 29 January in Committee Room 20, Upper Committee Corridor, Palace of Westminster. The witness details are as follows:

A transcript of the evidence session will be posted on the Committee’s website within about a week of the date of the session.
Background
Delegated or secondary legislation allows the Government to make new legislation or changes to legislation without needing to push through a completely new Act of Parliament.
This is an introductory session intended to inform the Committee’s thinking ahead of a proposed inquiry into the House of Commons’ procedures for scrutinising delegated legislation. Further details and a call for evidence are expected to be issued in due course.
