Access to Transport for disabled people - debate

The Committee’s Fifth Report of Session 2013-14, Access to transport for disabled people, has been selected for debate on Thursday 9 January, in Westminster Hall at approximately 1.30pm

Making this announcement today Louise Ellman, Chair of the House of Commons Transport Committee said,

“There is still a lot of work required to make public transport accessible to disabled people. This debate will provide an opportunity for MPs to press the Government to make improvements. We were particularly disappointed that the DfT has rejected our call to require bus operators to introduce audio-visual systems across the bus network and to give all bus and coach drivers disability awareness training. I will be urging Ministers to think again about this issue.”
