Committee to produce a further Report

Graham Allen MP, Chair of the Political and Constitutional Reform Committee, said: “The Lobbying Bill glacier is moving, now it must pick up speed in the days before it slides back to  the House of Commons. A further report from the PCRSC will give it a timely shove”

“ We are very pleased that the Government has indicated that they are prepared to make concessions on the Lobbying and Transparency Bill. We and many others have expressed our concerns about the effects of this Bill as it is currently constructed and I have tabled a number of amendments that were unanimously agreed by the Committee. We will be keeping a close eye on progress of the Bill in the Lords and we will produce another report, overnight if necessary, in time for the Commons consideration of what we expect may be significant Lords amendments.”
