Debate on the finances of the House of Commons

On Thursday 21 November, MPs took part in a debate on a motion relating to the finances of the House of Commons. Members of the Administration Committee who spoke in the debate included the Chair, Sir Alan Haselhurst, Thomas Docherty, Nigel Mills and Mark Tami.
The debate included topics which the Administration Committee has looked at in some depth during the current parliament, including:
- catering services and the Savings Programme
- public access and visitor experience of Parliament
- the proposed Education Centre for schoolchildren
- the parliamentary gift shops
