16 January 2014

This is the first evidence session for the Committee’s inquiry into UK policy towards Iran, building upon the one-off session held by the Committee on 5 February last year on Iran’s nuclear programme.

This inquiry will look at the UK’s role in the negotiations which led to the Joint Plan of Action agreed in Geneva in November 2013, but it is also expected to look more widely at how the UK engages with Iran’s foreign policy and its approach to normalising the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
