On 7 January 2014, the Transport Committee heard oral evidence from Gatwick Airport, easyJet and representatives from the rail sector on weather-related disruption to transport networks over Christmas.

The Committee has decided to gather further written evidence on the disruption caused by flooding at Gatwick on Christmas Eve. It is particularly interested to receive first-hand accounts of what happened from people attempting to travel that day from the North Terminal.

Chair's comments

Committee Chair Louise Ellman MP said:

"We would like to find out more about how travellers were affected by the disruption and their view of whether the airport or their airline could have done more to help."

We would be grateful to receive written submissions by Friday 31 January 2014.

Written submissions for this inquiry should be sent via the Transport Committee inquiry page.
