Commenting ahead of the session, Chair of the Committee Baroness O’Cathain said:

“Youth unemployment is a huge concern across the EU, and we’ve heard from a wide variety of witnesses throughout this investigation on issues such as careers advice, opportunities for young people, the effectiveness of EU programmes, the skills gap, and labour migration.

For next week’s evidence session, we are keen to hear from people who may have questions they’d like us to put to the UK Government on the issue. So I would encourage people to tweet us their question, using the hashtag #jobs4youth, and we will put a selection of them to the ministers next Monday.”

Deadline

The deadline for tweeting a question is 4pm Friday 31 January.

Likely questions

The Committee will ask questions on areas such as careers advice and training opportunities for young people, how EU funds for tackling youth unemployment should be spent, and how young people can be involved in policy making.
