What impact does school spending have on pupil attainment?
3 July 2014
The Education Committee publishes the Department for Education's submission on pupil attainment following oral evidence from David Laws MP.
On 11 June the Committee took evidence from Rt Hon David Laws MP, Minister of State for Schools, on the Department for Education’s proposals for allocating £350m in additional funding to local authorities’ schools budgets in 2015–16.
During the session, the Minister agreed that the Department would prepare a note for the Committee on the evidence for a relationship between the level of expenditure on schooling and outcomes for pupils (see Q21 & 26 - Fairer Schools Funding 2015-16 - oral evidence 11 Jun 2014)
