New technologies for National Health Screening examined

This session will focus on how new technologies and scientific advances hold the potential to alter the way screening is delivered. This includes changing exactly who is invited to participate as well as the conditions and diseases they are screened for.

The first panel comprises members of the academic community and cancer charities who are involved with, or are funding research into, novel approaches to screening. The current governance arrangements for implementing, modifying and withdrawing screening programmes will be addressed by the second panel which features officials from Public Health England, Public Health Wales and the UK National Screening Committee.
