Purpose of the session
The Committee is holding an evidence session in Hull to consider the appropriateness of academy status for primary schools and what evidence there is that this can add educational value and provide value for money. The Committee will also hear evidence on self-improving and collaborative models for non-academy primary schools.
This session is open to the public. It will be preceded in the morning by a private visit by the Committee to Sirius Academy. During its time in Hull, the Committee is also visiting a local primary school and meeting local heads, governors, council officers and others.
