Chair of Low Pay Commission questioned on National Minimum Wage

The Scottish Affairs Committee takes evidence from the Chair of the Low Pay Commission, David Norgrove on Wednesday 25 June 2014.

The Chair of the Low Pay Commission, David Norgrove, will appear before the Scottish Affairs Committee to discuss compliance with and enforcement of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) in Scotland.

Purpose of the session

During its inquiry into zero hours contracts the Committee heard that workers in certain sectors of the economy were not being paid the minimum wage. This session covers levels of non-compliance and reasons for it, the effectiveness of enforcement and the levels of sanction available to the Government, as well as discussion of the future of the minimum wage.
