On 29 May, Lord Freud, DWP Minister for Welfare Reform, wrote to the Committee in response to a specific recommendation on implementation of the Single Fraud Investigation Service, as set out in the Committee’s recent Report on Fraud and error in the benefits system. Lord Freud’s letter and a reply from the Chair of the Committee are published below. DWP is expected to respond in full to the Committee’s Report in July.
