The Home Affairs Select Committee will holds a joint seminar with Google on promoting the positive online on Thursday 13 March 2014.

The event will include an interactive presentation by YouTube creators followed by an in depth panel discussion on Counter-Terrorism and Foreign Fighters.

The panel will include experts on counter terrorism and from internet companies.

Keith Vaz MP, Chairman of the Committee said:

“The World Wide Web is 25 years old today and has become essential to living our lives in the 21st Century. I am pleased the Committee and Google are working together to raise awareness about this important issue.

More and more we see the internet used as a tool of radicalisation but it is vital that we seize it as a force for good.

Tomorrow marks the closure of the outreach part of our inquiry. By bringing together experts on Counter-Terrorism and the know-how of Google we can create a template for the future promotion of positive messages online.”
