The Foreign Affairs Committee will publish its Report on Government foreign policy towards the United States at 00.01 am (BST) on Thursday 3 April 2014. This will be the Committee’s Eighth Report of Session 2013–14 (HC 695).

The Report will be made available on the Committee’s website, www.parliament.uk/facom, on 3 April and copies may be purchased from the Parliamentary Bookshop (12 Bridge Street, Westminster, London, SW1A 2JX).

Embargoed copies of the Report will be available to witnesses and the media, on request, from 10.00 am (BST) on Wednesday 2 April.

Notes for editors

This Report is a follow-up to the major Report on UK-US relations that our predecessor Committee published in March 2010, just before the UK General Election and a year into President Obama’s first term of office. Four years on, the Report discusses policy towards the US under the Coalition Government, the state of the bilateral relationship, the impact of the two states’ decisions in August 3013 about possible military action in Syria, some machinery of Government issues, and selected strategic issues, including the US ‘pivot to Asia’ and the UK’s EU membership.
