The Energy & Climate Change Select Committee is looking for an energy networks expert to provide specialist advice on a consultancy basis.

Applicants should be able to provide clear expert advice, on issues relating to gas and electricity transmission and distribution networks, to MPs in writing and in oral presentations. Successful applicants will work closely with committee support staff in the preparation of advice, briefing material and reports for the committee, particularly in relation to the Committee’s current inquiry: Network costs

Successful applicants will work closely with committee support staff to prepare oral and written advice, briefing material and reports for the Committee.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have good contacts with the main players in the industry and an awareness of best practice in the UK and abroad;
  • Have effective written and oral communication skills, including experience of communicating complex subjects in clear terms to politicians and/or senior decision makers;
