Former President of Czech Republic and former Ambassador to Russia questioned

On Monday 10 November the House of Lords EU External Affairs Sub-Committee will take evidence on how the EU and Russia could build a constructive relationship in the future, the extent of business and economic interdependence between Russia and EU Member States and the EU's actions in the neighbourhood.

The House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on External Affairs will hear from Sir Andrew Wood GCMG, now an Associate Fellow at Chatham House and formerly British Ambassador to Russia.  The Committee will then hear from Václav Klaus, former President of the Czech Republic.

The evidence session is part of a Lords inquiry into the relationship between the EU and Russia, which is expected to report in early 2015..

The sessions will take place on Monday 10 November in Committee Room 1, House of Lords.

  • At 10.00am: Sir Andrew Wood GCMG, Russia and Eurasia Programme, Chatham House
  • At 11.00am: Václav Klaus, former President of the Czech Republic
