RPAS, civil use of drones, EU Officials
EU officials to be questioned on rules for civil use of drones
3 November 2014
A delegation from the EU Internal Market, Infrastructure and Employment Sub-Committee will travel to Brussels on 4-5 November to discuss its current inquiry on the civil use of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) with EU stakeholders.
- Inquiry: Civil use of remotely piloted air systems
- EU Internal Market, Employment and Infrastructure Sub-Committee
Over the course of the two days, the Committee will ask a range of witnesses for their views on the following:
- Has the EU Commission addressed the possible impediments to a strong RPAS market?
- Is EU-level regulation of RPAS necessary, or could it be left to Member States to do?
- Is a lack of regulation to blame for lack of investment by industry?
- Do large and small RPAS require the same sort of regulations?
- Are Member State regulators sufficiently resourced to deal with the increased use of RPAS?
