The House of Commons Governance Committee takes evidence from the Clerk of the Parliaments, the Shadow Leader of the House of Lords, the Conveyor of the Crossbench Peers and three Members who have expressed views on governance of the House of Commons.

Purpose of the session

In the first panel the Committee questions the Clerk of the Parliaments on the governance of the House of Lords, any opinions he might have on the governance of the House of Commons, the role of the Clerk / Chief Executive and potential changes in the governance arrangements for bicameral services.

In the second panel the Shadow Leader of the House of Lords and the Convenor of the Crossbench Peers give evidence on their views on governance, in general, and the options for developing shared services between the two Houses.

In third panel three Members who have expressed views on the governance of the House of Commons, give evidence.
