Purpose of the Session

This meeting is being run in conjunction with the CPA’s Westminster Conference on ‘Growth for Development’ which runs from 18-21 November and for Parliament Week 14-20 November which this year is focusing on young people with a campaign called ‘Do Democracy’ encouraging young people to share the issues they most care about. All witnesses are Parliamentary delegates to the CPA Conference. It is an opportunity for Committee Members to explore with fellow Parliamentarians what role can be played by Parliamentarians in the development of jobs and livelihoods. The first panel will be focussing on the issue of youth employment and the second panel will be looking at the employment and livelihoods of women in the developing world.
