The Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) will hold an oral evidence session on the work of the new Chief Executive of the UK Statistics Authority and National Statistician on Tuesday 21 October at 9.30am.

The session will:
- question Mr Pullinger on his vision for the Office of National Statistics and the UK Statistics Authority, and his aims for his five year tenure;
- examine progress against the UK Statistics Authority’s strategic priorities:
- Quality - including the scrutiny of official statistics;
- Impact – how to communicate statistics more effectively;
- Efficiency – value for money;
- Coverage - including the future of the Census; and
- Trustworthiness – how the UK Statistics Authority is working towards transparency and publishes statistics to inform public debate, and
- explore other issues to do with the use of statistics in government.
