Committee hear from drone manufacturers and operators
27 October 2014
On Monday 27 October the EU Internal Market, Employment and Infrastructure Sub-Committee will be taking oral evidence from Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) manufacturers and operators.
- Parliament TV: Watch the evidence session
- Inquiry: Civil use of remotely piloted air systems
- EU Internal Market, Employment and Infrastructure Sub-Committee
Over the course of a double evidence session, the Committee will ask the two separate panels for their views on the following:
- Has the EU Commission addressed the possible impediments to a strong RPAS market?
- Is a lack of regulation to blame for lack of investment by industry?
- Will significant job creation come from the development of a market for large RPAS, capable of delivering freight services?
- What are the key technologies that need to be developed to encourage use of larger RPAS?
- Do large and small RPAS require the same sort of regulations?

The first panel of witnesses (at 4.15pm) include representatives from both large and small manufacturers, including:
