1. Annual Reports of the Audit Committees

The Commission took note of the annual report of the Administration Estimate Audit Committee for 2013/14.

The Committee took note of the annual report of the Members Estimate Audit Committee for 2013/14.

2. R&R: Decision-making in the next Parliament

The Commission:

a.   agreed that the Corporate Officers should authorise the release of the Independent Options Appraisal and accompanying documentation in June/July 2015;

b.   supported the proposal for a Joint Committee on the Palace of Westminster to be established early in the next Parliament; and

c.    agreed that options should be drawn up in advance for Member and public consultation.

3. Any other business

The Commission welcomed the Report by Sir Paul Jenkins on The Governance of Security for Parliament; expressed its support for the general thrust of the conclusions; and agreed to consider urgently proposals for implementing recommended changes one and three relating to management of and responsibility for security functions.

4. Date of next meeting

The next meeting of the Commission/MEC will take place on Monday 17 November at 5.00 pm in Speaker’s House.
