Committee examines the Government response to the Natural Capital Committee's “State of Natural Capital” report

The Environmental Audit Committee examines the Government response to the Natural Capital Committee's (NCC) “State of Natural Capital” report (PDF 124.57 KB). In June the EAC published a report on ‘Well-being’, which included an examination of the work of the NCC and recommended that the NCC be put a permanent footing and its proposal for a 25-year action plan be adopted by the Government. The Government has now announced that the NCC’s remit will continue to September 2015 (a 6-month extension to its 3-year current term). The EAC intends to hear from Prof Dieter Helm, chair of the NCC, as part of this inquiry.
