School practical science - Evidence session

The purpose of this evidence session is to explore the alternative approaches to assessing practical science. The evidence session will draw out the conclusions from earlier round table discussions and their relevance to Ofqual’s current solution.

  • Representatives from a roundtable discussion involving Ofqual, AQA, National Union of Teachers, The Gatsby Charitable Foundation, Association of Colleges, University of York, and The Association for Science Education

At 11.05am

  • Representatives from a roundtable discussion involving Ofqual, OCR, National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Women Teachers, UK Deans of Science, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Consortium of Local Education Authorities for the Provision of Science

At 11.20am

  • Representatives from a roundtable discussion involving Ofqual, Pearson, Voice, Institute of Physics, The Wellcome Trust, Sixth Form Colleges Association, and UCAS

At 11.35am

  • Representatives from a roundtable discussion involving Ofqual, Welsh Joint Education Committee Eduqas, Headmasters and Headmistresses Conference, CST, CaSE, and Society of Biology

Further information

The session is open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Portcullis House is the building directly above Westminster Station, entrance to which is via Victoria Embankment. There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms. It is advisable to allow about 30 minutes to pass through security checks. Committee rooms and the timing of meetings are subject to change.
