Elliott questioned on integrity and assurance of food supply networks
10 September 2014
The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee will question Professor Chris Elliott about his final review of the Integrity and Assurance of Food Supply Networks which was published in September 2014.
The Elliott Review was commissioned by the Government after widespread horse meat contamination was discovered in 2013. Among its recommendations, the Review calls for the creation of a new Food Crime Unit to help investigate organised food crime.
The evidence session provides an opportunity for the Committee to ask Professor Elliott about his report and the Government’s response to it.
