Westminster Hall hosts a debate on the Home Affairs Committee's report into female genital mutilation, and the Government response, on Thursday 29 January.

There are as many  as 170,000 women and girls living in the UK who have had to undergo FGM and a further 65,000 young girls face the prospect of FGM in the future.

It has taken 29 years since the criminalisation of FGM for the first prosecutions to be brought.
