Following the collapse of City Link courier service the Scottish Affairs Committee is meeting with City Link employees and sub-contractors in Glasgow on Monday 12 January, after an appeal to do so by Margaret Curran MP and Pamela Nash MP, who represent many of the sacked workers.

Chair's comments

Ian Davidson MP, Chair of the Committee, said:

"The collapse of City Link has resulted in redundancies across Scotland and 2356 jobs lost across the UK.  There are many questions to be answered about the way all this has been handled by the firm’s owners.

We are meeting with City Link employees and sub-contractors in Glasgow on Monday to hear their views on what has happened and on what should now be done."

Evidence session

The Committee has also scheduled a formal evidence session for Tuesday 13 January in the House of Commons with Mick Cash, the General Secretary of the RMT, and relevant worker representatives.
