House of Commons Commission decisions – 19 January 2015

1. Security

The Commission took note of a paper from the Parliamentary security Director.

2. Governance Committee Report

The Commission discussed the report and agreed the text of a written statement to be made on 21 January.

3. Finance (Commission/MEC)

The Commission agreed an Administration Estimate supplementary to increase the resource provision for 2014/15 by £7.55m (£6.85m voted and £0.7m non-voted), reduce the capital provision by £4.4m (£4.6m voted less £0.2m non-voted) and increase the cash requirement by £18.5m (the latter subject to adjustment in the light of later information).

The Commission agreed an Administration Estimate Vote on Account for 2015/16 of £93.7m resource and £17.3m capital.

The Members Estimate Committee agreed a Members Estimate Vote on Account for 2015/16 of £17.9m resource and £3.9m capital.

4. Any other business

The Commission noted that it had been agreed that the 2018 Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth would be hosted in London.

The next meeting of the Commission/MEC will take place on Monday 26 January at 6.00 pm in Speaker’s House.
