Purpose of the session
This final evidence session with the Minister for Pensions is intended to explore the wide range of issues covered in the inquiry including
- Lessons learned from the experience of auto-enrolment to date
- Challenges of rolling out auto-enrolment to smaller employers and how these might be addressed
- Progress made in ensuring savers are enrolled in appropriate, well-governed pension schemes, which offer good value for money and low charges
- The impact on pension schemes of the new pension flexibilities
- Protecting pension savers: the new guidance service, and the possible need for additional protection, including default decumulation options
- The regulatory framework
- Reviewing auto-enrolment and developing future pension policy
