Former prison governor questioned on Wrexham prison proposal

Welsh Affairs Committee holds evidence session on prisons in Wales and treatment of Welsh offenders. The Committee hears from Kevin Lockyer, a former prison governor, and representatives from Wrexham County Borough Council.

A new prison in Wrexham

The Committee hears from Kevin Lockyer, a former governor at three prisons who now provides consultancy services on criminal justice matters and reducing re-offending. The Committee asks him how more modern prisons could work, about the performance of large prisons, and also the proposals for a new prison in Wrexham.

In the second panel, the Committee hears from representatives from Wrexham County Borough Council about the proposals to build a new prison in Wrexham.
