The Liaison Committee has today published its second report of the 2014-15 session, in which it recommends to the House four proposals for ad hoc Select Committee activity in the 2015-16 session.

Proposals recommended to the House

In its report published today, the Liaison Committee says the increase in Select Committee activity during the past three sessions has worked well, and recommends that the current high level of activity continue in the 2015-16 session.

The Committee recommends the following proposals to the House for appointment in 2015-16:

  • Sexual violence in conflict: the UK and global response (as a Select Committee on an international affairs subject)
  • National policy for the built environment
  • Social mobility for school leavers
  • Disability provisions of the Equality Act 2010 (post-legislative scrutiny)

These proposals were chosen from an unprecedentedly high number of proposals received from members of the House.

It is expected that the Committee’s report will be debated in the House before the end of the current session.
