Parliament was prorogued on 26 March 2015, and formally dissolved on 30 March.

The effect of the dissolution of Parliament is that all committees cease to exist, unless and until they are reappointed at the start of the new Parliament following the general election. In the case of the Science and Technology Committee, reappointment is likely to be in mid-June 2015.

In the interim, any inquiries regarding the work of the Science and Technology Committee may be directed to the Clerk.

Debates on Science and Technology Committee reports

The Government is required to respond formally to all Select Committee reports, notwithstanding dissolution. Such responses, if not issued before the end of March, will only appear after a new Government is formed following the election.

Motions to debate outstanding Science and Technology Committee reports will be tabled as appropriate in the new session.
