The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee takes evidence in connection with Defra’s responsibility for fracking on Tuesday 10 March at 3 pm.

Purpose of session

The aim of this session is to continue the Committee’s examination of Defra’s responsibility for fracking by taking evidence from shale gas operators. The focus of the session will be to gain an industry perspective on the practicalities and impact of the current environmental regulatory regime in place for shale gas exploration and recovery, including in relation to water abstraction, water quality and the removal of waste water.
