Purpose of the session

This one-off session provides an opportunity to question the Minister on progress since the Committee’s report Foundation Years: Sure Start children’s centres was published in December 2013.

The Government response was published in March 2014 and the Committee took evidence on that response from Liz Truss, then Minister for Childcare and Education, in June 2014.
